Melissa's natural talent for the tailored art form blossomed from her desire to complete the perfect race outfit. She offers a couture "made to measure" service to clients seeking an exclusive design.
Melissa prides herself on her ability to create hats and fascinators to match her client's desires, personality and clothing. She offers design expertise and one-on-one consultancy, to ensure complete customer satisfaction.
In recent years Melissa has taken her hobby and transformed it into an esteemed label known for its originality and quality.
Her talent was first recognised at the 2006 Darwin Cup Carnival Ladies Day, when her creation drew first class honours in the best dressed lady division. That same year one of her custom made fascinators was awarded "Best Hat" at 2006 Darwin Cup.
Monsoon Millinery has gone on in recent years to win various awards in the fashion stakes both in the Northern Territory an also Nationally.
Honing her skills in traditional and contemporary millinery methods, Melissa has completed courses with some of Australia’s leading Milliners. She continues to attend conventions and courses, allways striving to keep her designs current and interesting.
